Certain corporations (and one alliance in particular) have been locking down their own districts in PC every day for a month (at least) straight by launching against themselves with fake attacks using cheap clone packs. With the price of clone packs now, people can do this and lose a minimal amount of ISK, yet still render vast sections of MH inaccessible. With taxes they may not be losing money at all.
With the old prices, this would become unfeasible for any extended length of time. I understand the original reasoning behind bringing the price down from 80mil and the clone count down to 120 to help newer corporations and to prevent long-distance attacks. You failed to realize, however, that corporations that couldn't raise the 80mil ISK to launch an attack wouldn't be able to effectively defend their district anyway. And since PC has become a farming simulator (with the exception of the past few days), giving people the ability to launch longer-range attacks could only make things more interesting.
With these new prices, the problems you've created are much greater than the ones you've "solved." 10% of MH (at least) is essentially missing from the map because it's constantly under fake attack.
So which is the lesser of two evils, TrueGrit? Making it a little more difficult for smaller corporations (that wouldn't effectively be able to defend their districts anyway) from entering PC? Or letting a very small percentage of the player base make large amounts of PC inaccessible to anyone?
Change the clone packs back to 80 million ISK (at least) and 150 clones.

I'm not sure what your point is. What does that have to do with my post?

N1ck Comeau wrote:I think simply raising the cost of clone packs would be the answer. But not a jump right to 80 million, hear me out.
Lets say corp A has a district, and they want there alt corp, corp B to lock it.
Corp B attacks with a clone pack.
Next time Corp B sends a clone pack there, the isk price increases by 10, million.
then 10 million again.
For every consecutive attack against the same district with a clone pack, means the price of the clone pack increases.
Too easy to bypass. Get one more alt corp and that suggestion serves no purpose because you can break the consecutive streak.

I sort of want every corp to do this just so someone from CCP finally has to take action.
Nothing ever happens unless enough people complain.

Tallen Ellecon wrote:PC is broken as is, I can't count how many important battles we've lost because of lag, and it always happens to be when playing against the corps in PC with the most districts. Until they fix the lag, and make strikes EVE only, I couldn't care less about what people do in PC. The metagame is a big part of New Eden, and if it's not gamebreaking it's not something CCP makes a priority.
Even if you don't care about it, a lot of us either deal with the framerate issues or care enough about what has become the most competitive aspect of Dust that we just grin and bear it (okay maybe not grin). It's still where the good drama takes place (look at what happened to ANONYMOUS today) and when there's no framerate issues, they are the best battles in the game.
So when people are abusing the mechanics, especially when it's affecting so large a percentage of a very limited area, then it should be addressed.
